The Zaxis Z8 is a modular air leak tester for precision automated leak testing in factory production. Its 8-inch touchscreen and configurable testing options give electronics, medical-device and automotive manufacturers a clear interface for setting up, monitoring and repeating production leak tests.
With up to four test ports operating sequentially or concurrently, the Z8 air leak tester supports pressure decay, vacuum decay, occlusion, thermal and laminar mass flow, burst, pressure cracking, chamber and back-pressure-flow testing. Up to 100 stored programs let one modular platform cover changing parts and parameters through a single port.
The Z8 pairs low internal volume, a 32-bit ADC and fast scan rates for high sensitivity, with 0.00001 PSI test-result resolution. Its built-in manual or electronic regulator supports positive-pressure ranges from 2 to 1,000 PSIG and vacuum from 0 to 14.7 PSI; other ranges are available upon request.
An 8-inch touchscreen with pinch zoom and light and dark modes, optional onboard result storage and communications including OPC UA, USB, Ethernet/IP, TCP/IP, RS232 for datalogging output, RS485 and 24 VDC I/O support automation integration. How a Z8 Leak Test Runs
For a pressure decay program, the Z8 follows a four-stage cycle. The pressure, timing and reject limit are stored as part of the program, and the tester can run up to four test ports sequentially or concurrently.
Fill
The part is connected through a fitting or fixture and brought to the test pressure using the built-in manual or electronic regulator.
Settle
The programmed settle period allows the pressure in the part and test circuit to stabilize before measurement.
Test
The Z8 measures the programmed test interval and produces a pass/fail result against the program limit; its specified result resolution is 0.00001 PSI.
Vent
The test cycle completes and the remaining test pressure is released before the next programmed test begins.
