Custom Leak Testing Fixtures
Specialty sealing solutions for leak detection applications that standard products can’t solve, designed, machined and validated in-house with your Zaxis tester.
When a challenging application cannot be solved by our standard products, we utilize our specialized design, manufacturing and assembly team: mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, software engineers, machinists and assemblers, working in a 26,000 square foot manufacturing facility optimized for developing custom products.
Over 300 custom fixtures in 30 years. We like being challenged by our customers, because it provides a natural well for innovation.
Request for QuoteA collaborative design process
Our process is totally collaborative. We take the time to discuss your specific requirements and select the right Zaxis leak tester and test type for the part. Once we understand your needs, our design staff starts building a 3D model of the fixture.
That model is shared with you for approval before we move into manufacturing. The approved 3D model is then sent to our CNC machining staff, and the finished fixture is assembled and checked with your tester. The end result is a custom-built sealing solution that will meet your requirements every time.
Fixtures for automated test cells
Need to fit a leak test into your automation process? Once you decide which Zaxis tester works best for your application, tell us about your automation process and safety requirements: how parts arrive, how they are clamped, what guarding the cell needs and which signals the PLC expects. We will design something that fits your environment.
Drawer fixtures built in-house
Specially designed for chamber tests, Zaxis drawer fixtures come in a variety of sizes to fit your application. Each drawer is built in-house and specific to the dimensions of the product being tested.
We aim for a snug fit with very little room around your product, because minimizing the air volume around the part is what achieves the most sensitive test results.
Fixtures are sold with leak testers
Zaxis does not sell fixtures without leak testers. The fixture and tester are validated together as one system, so the seal, the pneumatic connections and the test program have been proven before the equipment reaches your floor. Contact us to begin the design process.
Frequently asked questions
What information starts a custom fixture design?
The part geometry and its ports, the test method, and, for automated cells, the automation process and safety requirements. Zaxis selects the tester and test type with you before the fixture is modeled.
Do I approve the fixture design before it is machined?
Yes. The design staff shares a 3D model of the fixture with you, and only the approved model goes to CNC machining.
Who is on the custom fixture team?
A specialized design, manufacturing and assembly team of mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, software engineers, machinists and assemblers.
Where are custom fixtures manufactured?
In Zaxis’s 26,000 square foot manufacturing facility in Salt Lake City, Utah, which is optimized for developing custom products for challenging applications.
Can a fixture be designed for my automation cell?
Yes. Once the Zaxis tester is chosen, share your automation process and safety requirements and the fixture is designed for that environment.
