Published legacy status

This page summarizes the current lifecycle status of each legacy Zaxis leak tester and its recommended replacement. The 7i will have limited parts availability after 2028. The Isaac HD and iKit were discontinued on 03/31/25 and will have limited parts availability after 2028. The PD is in limited supply because its processor is discontinued and replacement parts are limited. Status and available service should be confirmed for the installed unit.

Upgrade matrix

Legacy platformPublished statusPublished replacement
7iLimited parts availability after 2028Z8 — same pneumatics; firmware validated side by side for identical results where applicable
iKitDiscontinued on 03/31/25; limited parts availability after 2028Z1 — same pneumatics and machine-mount format; firmware validated side by side where applicable
Isaac HDDiscontinued on 03/31/25; limited parts availability after 2028Z5 — same pneumatics; firmware validated side by side where applicable
PDLimited supply because its processor is discontinued; replacement parts are limitedZ5L — recommended for new stations and PD replacements

The replacement mapping follows the legacy product pages. “Same pneumatics” and side-by-side validation language are published as applicable replacement-path statements, not a guarantee that every station can be swapped without review.

What to review with the integrator

Begin with the installed model, test methods, pressure range, fixtures, manifolds, stored programs, I/O map, network connection and data handling. The Z8 adds OPC UA and HDMI while sharing EtherNet/IP, TCP/IP and RS232/RS485 with the 7i. Compare actual footprint and interfaces on the linked product pages instead of assuming dimensions or connectors transfer.

Service, calibration and RMA

For an installed tester, start with Request Service (RMA). Use the published calibration resources for calibration context and include model, serial number, symptom and station constraints in the request. If replacement planning is appropriate, request a quote with the installed configuration.

A controlled migration

Capture the current configuration, fixture connections and acceptance criteria; review the proposed replacement; plan validation on the actual station; then schedule the cutover with service and production stakeholders. Zaxis legacy pages state it can help draft IQ/OQ/PQ documents from existing documentation to expedite qualification.

Prepare the replacement review

Inventory each installed tester before scheduling a change. Record the model and serial number, production cell, test methods, pressure and vacuum configuration, fixture connections, stored programs, data connection, I/O map and service history. This makes it easier to distinguish equipment commonality from station-specific work.

Review the replacement with manufacturing, controls, quality and service stakeholders. The legacy pages describe same-pneumatics and side-by-side validation language where applicable; actual fixtures, test parameters, acceptance decisions and site validation remain station-specific. Do not infer a plug-and-play swap from a product-family recommendation.

Plan a controlled validation using the installed process documentation and representative parts. Preserve the current configuration before changing it, document the proposed mapping and agree how results will be compared. Zaxis can help draft IQ/OQ/PQ documents from existing documentation to expedite qualification.

For a repair or calibration question, submit the service request with the installed unit details. For a replacement quote, provide the same configuration evidence so the engineering conversation begins with the actual station rather than only the product name.
