Precision Metering Pumps

Compare Zaxis Metering Pumps

Zaxis eVmP systems are valveless precision metering pumps configured for a required dispense volume, fluid and production workflow.

Compare eVmP1 and eVmP2 enclosure systems with M-Series, V-Series and VS10-Series pump configurations. Values below are published configuration values; confirm the installed head, drive, fluid and application with Zaxis.

How to choose

Start with the required dispense volume and rate, then match wetted materials, fluid viscosity and control interface. M-Series covers microliter dispensing; V-Series and VS10-Series address milliliter and higher-volume configurations; eVmP1 and eVmP2 package configured pumps in benchtop or dual-pump enclosures.

Valveless pump selection: qualify the delivered dose

Select a pump head, adjustment mechanism, dispensing drive and controller as a configuration—not as interchangeable specifications. The comparison above is a shortlist, not evidence that every listed maximum can be reached together with every fluid. Use the following boundaries to decide what to verify on your actual dispensing system.

Displacement adjustment is different from dispensing drive

In eVmP, electronic adjustment physically changes the pump-head angle relative to the drive, changing piston stroke length and displacement. A precision stepper actuator adjusts volume; the dispensing drive is selected separately as stepper or servo. Changing cycle speed is not the same as changing displacement. See the eVmP mechanism and configuration guide and operating manual, section 1.2.2.

Valveless describes the absence of traditional supply/discharge check valves in the ceramic-piston mechanism. It does not establish universal chemical compatibility, zero service requirements or an obstruction-free fluid path. The installed head, seals, tubing, fittings and nozzle still need a compatible fluid and cleaning procedure. The manual identifies fluid-dependent slip and abrasive damage risks; qualify pressure, viscosity, speed and service conditions together.

What each pump-selection quantity does—and does not—establish.
Quantity or claimSelection meaningQualification boundary
Displacement per revolutionConfiguration-specific displacement basis for selecting the head and stroke adjustment. Not automatically the smallest qualified delivered shot at the nozzle; identify the command, fluid path and delivery conditions.
Flow rateVolume per time for the selected operating conditions.Do not substitute it for displacement per revolution or combine independently stated flow and pressure maxima without a qualified operating point.
AccuracyAgreement with the target dose using a stated error basis.Identify whether the specification is full-scale or relative to the target, and the applicable configuration and test conditions.
Repeatability / CVDispersion of repeated deliveries; CV expresses standard deviation relative to the mean.Low CV alone does not prove the mean equals the target. Report mean dose and error as well as spread.
ResolutionThe stated adjustment or command increment. Not a demonstrated minimum delivered dose or a guarantee of accuracy at that increment.
Wetted materialsMaterials to review against the fluid and cleaning chemistry.A materials list is not universal fluid compatibility or a validated cleaning/sterilization cycle.
Automation interfaceCommands and signals available for the selected drive/controller and options.Confirm the ordered interface, command mapping and fault response. Stored recipes and motor feedback do not independently measure delivered liquid.

An evidence packet for the application review

Before trials, write the acceptance rule and identify the exact head, drive, controller/firmware, wetted path, fluid, temperature, viscosity, supply condition, outlet pressure, nozzle, target dose and cycle rate. State whether the requirement applies at startup, steady operation, after idle time or across a recipe change. Agree the measurement method and number of observations with the responsible engineering team rather than adopting an unexplained sample count.

Request the raw observations, target, mean delivered dose, error basis and repeatability statistic with units. Keep calibration/reference records, operating settings and exclusions with the results. If mass is used to infer volume, document the density basis and conditions. For the selected fluid, include startup/priming, cleaning, service and fault-recovery checks in the agreed protocol. This is a proposed evidence checklist, not a Zaxis performance test report.

Use M-Series, V-Series and VS10-Series for head/drive discussions. eVmP1 and eVmP2 are enclosure-system routes; their installed pumps determine delivery capability. Review the dispensing applications, then request a configuration review with the evidence requirements attached.
