Modular Production Leak Tester

Isaac HD Air
Leak Tester

Precision testing in a compact production footprint

The Isaac HD has been a dependable modular production leak tester for years, but it was discontinued on 03/31/25 and will have limited parts availability after 2028. If Isaac HD testers are part of your production line, now is the time to plan the move to the Zaxis Z5 — before a failed unit turns a scheduled upgrade into an emergency.

The Z5 is the direct successor, engineered as a drop-in path rather than a new platform to validate from scratch. The pneumatics are the same, so your fixtures, fittings and test pressures carry over, and the Z5 firmware has been tested side by side with the Isaac HD to deliver identical test results where applicable. Your proven programs, limits and cycle times transfer with confidence.

What changes is what you gain. The Z5 adds test methods including back-pressure flow, adds OPC UA and HDMI connectivity; Ethernet/IP is shared with the Isaac HD for modern automation and data collection, replaces the 24-bit converter with a 32-bit A/D for finer resolution and faster scan rates, and puts a 5” pinch-zoom touchscreen on the front. It is built on a future-proof supply chain with a long production horizon, so the tester you install today stays serviceable.

Validation does not have to slow the transition. Zaxis will help draft your IQ, OQ and PQ documents from your existing documentation to expedite qualification of the Z5 on your line. Upgrade your fleet on your schedule, one station or all of them — request an upgrade quote and we will map each Isaac HD configuration to its Z5 equivalent.

Upgrade Path: Isaac HD to Z5

The Isaac HD will have limited parts availability after 2028. The Z5 was designed so that moving an Isaac HD station to a Z5 is a controlled, low-risk change — not a re-engineering project.

What stays the same

  • Same pneumatics — fixtures, fittings and test pressures carry over
  • Firmware tested side by side for identical test results where applicable
  • Compact production footprint suited to the same station
  • Pressure decay, vacuum decay, occlusion, mass flow, burst, chamber and pressure-cracking methods
  • 100 stored programs
  • Made in the USA by the same Zaxis engineering team

What improves

  • Additional test methods, including back-pressure flow
  • OPC UA and USB connectivity; Ethernet/IP and TCP/IP are shared with Isaac HD
  • HDMI output for a large screen or monitor
  • 32-bit A/D converter (from 24-bit) with faster scan rates and 0.00001 PSI resolution
  • 5” pinch-zoom touchscreen with light and dark modes
  • Up to 4 test ports, sequential or concurrent, in one unit
  • Future-proof supply chain — serviceable for the long term

Leak Test Types

These are the methods Isaac HD stations were configured for. Every one of them is available on the Zaxis Z5, which adds back-pressure flow — so an Isaac HD program has a direct Z5 equivalent.

Technical Specifications

Specifications below are for reference when matching an existing Isaac HD station to its replacement. The Z5 covers every range and method listed here; contact Zaxis and we will map your configuration to the equivalent Z5 build.
